Jaime Rivera

Program Coordinator

A co-founder of For A Better Bronx, has been involved in Social Justice campaigns from the age of 16 beginning in Puerto Rico and continued in New York City.  Was fortunate to be mentored by former members of the Young Lords and Black Panther Parties which assisted in his political formation.

In the mid 90's was part of roundtables between street organizations in order to redirect and refocus energies and begin to serve the communities in which their members' lived. Through this work, he has been involved in conferences in New York City, Genoa, Italy & Barcelona, Spain addressing the violence within street organizations and the need to emulate past movements in fighting for change and justice.

Jaime been organizing around environmental justice, social justice (police brutality,, anti-war movements, access to health care, fair trade campaigns, immigration rights) prisoners' rights and alternative to incarceration campaigns in Puerto Rico, New York

Jaime has returned to work with FABB to assist in Programs Coordination and Community Organizing campaigns around environmental, social and food justice.
